Announcing the Woolsey Winter Food Drive

A Community Effort Led by Jennifer Jackson and Heather Burgett-Svanevik

We are excited to announce the launch of a new food drive in Woolsey starting November 12, 2025, through December 31, 2025. Our goal is to provide support and nourishment to members of our community who may be facing food insecurity during the colder months and holidays.

Why a Food Drive?

We recognize that recent events have exacerbated a normally challenging time that Winter and the holidays can be for many families and individuals. By establishing a local food drive, we hope to ensure that no one in Fayette County must worry about where their next meal is coming from.

How You Can Help

• Donate: Non-perishable food items.

o Wish lists: Canned meats (Tuna, Chicken, Salmon, Beef Stew, Sloppy Joe), Pasta Sauce, Jams, Peanut Butter, Pancake Mix and Syrup, Juice, Canned Fruits, Dried Beans, Rice, Boxed Potatoes, Canned Vegetables and Soup.

• Spread the Word: Please share information about the food drive with friends, family, and neighbors who might benefit or wish to contribute.

Next Steps

Beginning November 12th, there will be a collection container at Woolsey Produce on Hill Ave, just before the corner of 92 South and Hampton. Your support is crucial in making this initiative a success and ensuring that everyone has a nourishing winter.

The Two Organizations We’re Supporting

• Fayette Samaritans

o Open Monday – Friday from 9 am – Noon. No appointment is necessary.

o 126 Hickory Rd, Fayetteville

• South Fayette Blessing Box

o Open 7 days a week. 7 am to 7 pm

o 614 South Jeff Davis Drive, Fayetteville

One Last Note

While our drive is focused on helping the citizens of Woolsey and Fayette County, if you know of a family in Woolsey that is going to struggle to have a Thanksgiving meal, please let us know. We have people who would be happy to help provide a meal.

Thank you for joining us in this important effort. Together, we can make a real difference in our community.
